Valerie Corradetti (b.1977, Clayton, New Jersey) is a multimedia artist living in Montreal, QC. Her practice frequently includes collecting natural materials that form the basis for her detailed drawings and photographs. She focuses on the power of landscape and its ability to represent a full range of ideas; the reality of beauty, the mundane, a promise of the future, and the unknown. Through visual metaphor, she explores our increasingly stressed and distant relationship to the natural world.

Valerie received her MFA from the University of New Orleans and her work has been included in exhibitions at the University of Alabama at Birmingham; the New Orleans Museum of Art; the Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans; Boyd Satellite Gallery in New Orleans, and Galerie im Andeschshof in Innsbruck, Austria. In addition, she was recently awarded residencies at Penland School of Craft in Spruce Pine, North Carolina and VCCA in Amherst, Virginia.
